The VETMotorsports program provides its participant with an actual hands-on experience and immersion, real-time activities and leadership roles in a “high-stress” motorsports environment.
THE VETMotorsports MISSION: The mission focuses on empowering disabled veterans and supporting them in their continued healing so that their abilities instead of disabilities will be reaffirmed, accentuated, and valued. The mission is achieved through the use of motorsports as a means to fully engage disabled veterans through meaningful participation in a team environment.
TARGET POPULATION:The target population includes active service members and veterans who incurred service-connected wounds, injuries, or illnesses on or after September 11, 2001.
CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS:Your contribution enables VETMotorsports to further expand and enhance the project to accommodate additional veterans who might benefit from participating in an active team environment to aid in their transition from treatment into mainstream life.
VETMotorsports is a national program that relies on community-based settings to help facilitate engagement. Our program succeeds with veterans and families because it provides a unique wellness activity focused on developing resiliency in mind, body, and engagement. Veterans and injured service members exhibit empowerment and enhanced mental health, and are provided opportunities in leadership and peer mentoring. The program connects participants to other peers, and has been successful in engaging the community.
PROGRAM COMPONENTS:The VETMotorsports program provides its participant with an actual hands-on experience and immersion in a unique format. We engage warrior alumni over a sustained period of time and provide access to real-time activities and leadership roles in a “high-stress” motorsports environment. Program participants can choose to engage in activities related to either two-wheel or four-wheel motorsports.
ORGANIZATION CAPACITY:VETMotorsports has a combined 35 years in motorsports experience, and over twenty years in combined project management experience. We have the capacity to replicate this project and ensure the integrity of the program. VETMotorsports is a recognized 501(c)(3), governed by a Board of Directors that will provide oversight for this project.
Thank you for your consideration.
