Conrad Chavez's Fundraiser:
The new school at Vatsalya
Conrad
EVENT DATE: Jul 10, 2011
AMOUNT RAISED OFFLINE: $29,128.00
HERE'S THE STORY:
Building a new school will turn around the lives of more street children
Everyone at Vatsalya feels so strongly about the need for this project that the staff and older students are donating their own time and labor toward the construction of their school.
About the work of Vatsalya
At their peaceful, rural Udayan campus outside Jaipur, India, Vatsalya rehabilitates orphans through a holistic program built around strong core values. The orphans receive an education, including math, Hindi, English, arts and music. The children also learn practical trade skills so that they can get a job when they graduate. They learn community values, such as how to respect others, resolve conflicts, and get along. Some children require therapy to overcome the often severe traumas of urban street life in India.
I support the new school at Vatsalya because I've always believed in the philosophy of guiding a child into becoming a whole person: educated, skilled, employed, and a positive force in the community who will then help others as well.

Help fund construction of the new school
Vatsalya transforms children from street orphans into workers, teachers, and leaders. Please help build their new school in any way that you can...even a small amount helps.
US citizens: Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, because your donation will be handled through Edge of Seven, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports Vatsalya in the United States.
When I started this page, Vatsalya had raised about a third of their USD$40,000 goal, and now we're already almost there. But we still need your help to make it the rest of the way. Just click the big orange button up there!
