MANGO TREE FOUNDATION INC wrote -
We are currently working in Bogota, Colombia with a group called Yo Mujer. Yo Mujer works with women and their families who are displaced people. In Spanish, desplazados. Desplazados are finding their way, in huge numbers, into the city of Bogota. Most have lost their homes, loved ones, businesses and are having to "run" to live and survive.Yo Mujer works to help these families figure out what to do next. Mango Tree Foundation works to help support the work that Yo Mujer - we think their work is that important.
We are traveling to Bogota August 1-5 to build a rooftop vegetable garden for Yo Mujer. We believe that access to a vegetable garden will help to eliminate, on a small scale, food scarcity. But, we are also working with Nestle, USAID, the World Food Program, Camacol and our local partners, Uniminuto and INPlazados to create partnerships to help support the work that Yo Mujer does.
