Streets + Beets
Streets + Beets is our annual bike ride fundraiser that fuels the future for 3 urban farms in the heart of the Emerald City.
Founded in 2009 by 13 strangers, Alleycat Acres has grown into an extensive family of hundreds of individuals who have collectively rolled up their sleeves and continually work to build a better future - by planting one seed at a time.
Our farms are platforms for opportunity. We've met amazing new friends (family members, really) and have learned so much from everyone whose taken part in working with us.
This year, we're looking to raise $25,000 to help us push forward our organization. These funds will:
- Help develop a skill share program for 1 year ($10,000);
- Pay for all farm related costs, including water, seeds, tools, infrastructure and related expenses ($6,000);
- Assist with costs of obtaining our own independent 501(c)(3) status ($1,000 +)
... And more! From outreach to community events, to office supplies and bike trailers, our entire effort is powered by a 100% volunteer staff and funded by amazing people like you who believe in our effort to (re)connect people, place + produce.
