ASIAN AMERICAN WOMEN ARTISTS ASSOCIATION INC 's Fundraiser:
A PLACE OF HER OWN
ASIAN AMERICAN WOMEN ARTISTS ASSOCIATION INC
HERE'S THE STORY:
"If you had a place of your own, what would it be?"
A PLACE OF HER OWN is a multi-disciplinary series of exhibitions and arts programming that invites artists and the public to respond to the question, “If you had a place of your own, what would it be?” The project provides thought provoking and breath taking art, interactive questions, cultivating dialogue and raises consciousness around women’s issues. Since 2009 AAWAA has mounted 3 exhibitions featuring 43 artists.
AAWAA is currently working with social service providers to build A PLACE OF HER OWN Social Services Initiative. Thanks to San Francisco Arts Commission's Arts & Communities Innovative Partnerships Exploratory grant the project includes creative healing and the development of tools to grow confidence in women. AAWAA is also proud to partner with WomenArts Harmony Project, generously funded by the Nathan Cummings Foundation. Our current social service participants will continue to work further on their arts projects, while mentoring new participants.
We need sustainable funding to keep this program growing on many fronts. The growth and depth of A PLACE OF HER OWN relys on your sustained support. Please adopt our program, become part of the family.
Donate funds or your skills, volunteer, join, above all get involved and help creatively heal our community.
