LINN COUNTY CHILD VICTIM ASSESSMENT CENTER INC
EIN: 93-1163555
BASED: Albany, OR, United States
The Linn County Child Victim Assessment Center, which is commonly known as The ABC House, provides a safe, child friendly environment where children who are suspected of having been abused or neglected can come to receive a neutral, objective, comprehensive assessment. Assessments may include a head to toe medical check up and/or an interview conducted by specially trained and experienced individuals. Non-offending family members will receive support and information to help their children begin the healing process. The ABC House is an accredited member of the National Children’s Alliance and a member of the Oregon Network of Child Abuse Intervention Centers.
The ABC House also has a Community Education Program, which was created to provide educational presentations on a variety of topics (such as child abuse, domestic/dating violence, and internet safety) to the schools and communities of Linn and Benton counties. In addition to presentations, our Community Education Program holds a support group, Girls Group, for girls between the ages of 12-17. Girls Group is designed to foster self-esteem through creative and sharing activities. Today, many teen girls struggle with serious issues such as: eating disorders, drug and alcohol addiction, violence, low self-esteem, and poor body image. Girls Group strives to address and improve the outcome of these issues through peer interaction and creative activities.
