The purpose of life, is a life of purpose.
Well helloooo! I'm Alex Conti and in a nut shell I'm a second year at UCSB who loves to run and wants to make a difference doing it. For those of you who know me well you know I'm a huge fan of inspirational quotes and a firm believer in the one above. There's about a million other things I could include in this "about me" section but the way I see it this page isn't really "about me" it's about something so much bigger. I have been extremely fortunate and blessed throughout my life and can't complain about the few minor bumps I've had along the way. I'm definitely guilty of getting caught up in the chaos and clutter of a busy life and forget to reflect on how lucky I am to have an amazing family, wonderful friends, and good health. As far as I'm concerned your friends, family, & health are your fundamental building blocks of a happy life and it is far too easy to take these simple yet important aspects for granted. In a world where the word "cancer" is said too many times and hits too close to home for too many people, every effort, big or small, towards finding a cure can make a difference. So lately in examining my life I decided it was time I did something that benefited someone or something other than myself, something with a purpose bigger than me. How am I doing this you may ask? Well as I said before I love to run, but why just run when you can run 4 something? This March I'll be participating in the LA Marathon's "Run 4 Something" program and running 26.2 miles for the Susan G. Komen Team! I've always loved to run but had never seriously considered doing a marathon until I came across the "Run 4 Something" program and realized that I could play an active role in raising money for a cause that I am passionate about. Every penny fundraised will be directly donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation and put towards valuable research and hopefully put us one step closer to a cure. So why should you join me on this new, exciting, probably painful, but undoubtedly rewarding journey? Check out the box below and I'll tell you why!
WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME:
Plain & Simple. Help a good person help a great cause. Click on my project below labeled Komen LA to donate. Whether its $5, $50, or $500, every dollar makes a difference. Make a difference, donate now!

Happy Holidays and a BIG December vote for you!!
Please check out my "Mud for Art" project...
I am raising money for The California State Summer School Arts Foundation at CalArts. Its mission is to train the next generation of arts professionals in animation, creative writing, dance, film & video, music, theatre, and visual arts. And what better way to raise money for this amazing program than to run through obstacles and mud?! And my next run is coming up soon!!
Your donations will help support low-income, aspiring artists and will enable those students to realize their dreams and aspirations in the arts.
