I was born and raised in one of the oldest polders of Holland, and as long as I can remember, been fascinated by nature. At a very young age I was walking around with an old camera to take pictures of birds and animals.
My third passion also took shape: travel! Combining these passions I’m traveling and photographing in many unique places on earth.
A trip to Antarctica was a turning point. The beauty is hard to capture in one picture! You feel so small and insignificant, an unspoiled place on earth.
As time went on I became increasingly aware of the uniqueness of the Antarctic and Sub Antarctic regions. Photographing Albatrosses and Penguins is now becoming a life goal.
BUT this unique world is threatened by many dangers and our ignorance. Many questions still remain unanswered - much money is needed to continue studies!
A few years ago Sandra Birnhak asked me to become a member of the Board of Advisors for The Foundation for Antarctic Research. I didn't hesitate!
