I am participating as a member of the Krewe of Vulcan for the 2012 Mardi Gras Masquerade. As a part of the Krewe, I will be raising funds for Kid One Transport, a nonprofit organization that provides transportation to medical appointments for needy children and expectant mothers all across the state of Alabama.
Many of us, myself included, take transportation for granted. We enjoy the luxury of our personal vehicles and never have to concern ourselves with whether or not we can travel from one place to the next. For most of us, transportation is a given. However, in every community throughout this state, children and families are suffering due to a lack of safe, reliable transportation. For all of these families, Kid One is the bridge across this transportation gap.
The male and female Krewe member who raise the most money will be crowned King and Queen of the Krewe of Vulcan at the Mardi Gras Masquerade event - February 17th, 2012 at the Summit Club. Please help me in my efforts to be crowned Queen and raise much needed funds for Kid One Transport, so that no child ever has to forego medical care because of a lack of transportation.
