HERE'S THE STORY:
Lung cancer is an awfully painful disease that not only affected my dad but also went through the heart and soul of my mom, my whole family and me. We suffered each moment with him. That’s how much we loved him.
But when my dad arrived at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, their expert doctors and nurses knew exactly what to do to keep my dad pain free. Calvary Hospital is 100% devoted to providing the best care to adult patients in the advanced stages of cancer, addressing the symptoms of the disease, not its cure. And with that, also alleviated the tremendous stress my mom was under, as well as the rest of us.
Calvary took care of everything, and that gave us the chance to totally focus on our time with dad. We played cards, we laughed, we hugged, and yes, we cried. And for one last time, we were all together…as a family.
I’ll never forget what Calvary did for us, and that is why I'm running the ING NYC Marathon to raise money for Calvary Hospital.
