HERE'S THE STORY:
Alwan for the Arts is a nonprofit Art & Culture organization that promotes and fosters understanding of and appreciation for the diversity of cultural experiences and representations of the Middle East, North Africa, Central and South Asia, as reflected by the artistic expressions and intellectual production of the regions. Since 1998, Alwan has provided a space that allows for direct interaction between the general public and artists and scholars from the region, thereby fostering and enriching cross-cultural encounters, dialogue and reflection. Alwan continues to organize and host around one hundred cultural events annually, offering rich programming that includes film festivals and film screenings, book readings lectures and conferences, art exhibits, musical , dance and theatrical performances, and language classes.
Benefits of joining the Alwan Fundraising Team:
You do not have to be a runner to join the fundraising effort. As a member of the Alwan Fundraising Team, you will get a chance to raise funds for an organization whose mission you are passionate about and get some benefits in return.
The first five supporters who raise over $2,500 for Alwan will be eligible to register into the Marathon.
All participants in this effort who raise funds for Alwan will become eligible to receive a discount card that will entitle the bearer to discounts on all Alwan events among other benefits.
