Support our mission by creating your own fundraiser.
The American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter provides relief to those affected by disasters and empowers individuals in our community to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. By helping people in the Bay Area learn how to take care of their families and neighbors, we strengthen our community and make it more resilient to disasters large and small.
The Red Cross does this by fostering our volunteer network, which is nearly 2,000 people strong in the Bay Area, and by forming partnerships with hundreds of government agencies, community organizations and businesses. It’s these very individuals who are the face of the Red Cross in our community – providing training in first aid, CPR and disaster preparedness every day and offering support and comfort to families who have lost their homes to disaster every night.

Disaster Relief
The American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter provides 24-hour emergency assistance to people affected by fires, floods and other disasters. When a disaster occurs, Red Cross volunteers are on the scene immediately, providing a place to sleep, warm meals, clothing and counseling. Red Cross disaster relief services focus on meeting the immediate emergency needs of those affected and offering the support, information and resources necessary to help them recover from disaster. Disaster Readiness
The American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter works everyday to ensure our community is ready for a disaster by building a corps of volunteers and partners who are trained and able to immediately activate. At the same time, the Red Cross is pre-positioning supplies, making improvements to systems, and helping to nurture the interagency and corporate collaboration that will be so essential to the community’s recovery following a disaster.Learn More
First Aid, CPR, Water Safety and Disaster Preparedness Education
As one of the region’s largest educational providers, the American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter trains more than 350,000 people each year in lifesaving skills through community and workplace courses offered in the Bay Area. Many certified courses fulfill Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements. Some courses are offered in other languages, including Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog, Korean, Japanese and Vietnamese. Instructor and train-the-trainer courses are also available .Learn More
