Thank you all for making it to my Crowdrise page. I am here because I am passionate about a cause, Family House. Family House provides the essential service of free, temporary housing to families whose children are recieving treatment for cancer and other critical illnesses at UCSF Benioff Children's hospital. It is a place that provides comfort, community, and dignity at a time when it is most needed, and furthermore exudes a feeling of love and warmth that cannot be put into words. I stumbled accross Family House when I first moved to San Francisco 8 years ago through a class involving a volunteer placement. I have volunteered as far back as I can remember and being new to a city, it was a perfect way to start settling in. Before I knew it, I was a part of something bigger than myself. Being there reminded me of what is important and 8 years later the dedication that I felt to everyone at Family House has since grown stronger. My passion for these families coupled with a drive toward a healthy and active lifesyle has brought me here, to my FIRST half marathon and I could not be more excited.
