As a teaching artist working with children at Rooftop Alternative K-8 School, I know that kids have fantastic ideas and a lot of energy and enthusiasm for helping the world.
However, most of the time, children do not possess economic power to make some of their dreams a reality. I'd like our kids to see that there are many people out there who will join them in making good things happen.
This charitable effort invites people who care about young people & our planet to make matching contributions in support the causes that the students at Rooftop Alternative K-8 School care about. Through Save The Wave, our school's recycling campaign, completely initiated and run by the students, the kids have raised funds one piece of trash, one cent at a time through Terracycle.
