Time to update again ;) ...
Some random facts about me:
1. I follow Jesus Christ.
2. I'll try just about anything once.
3. I definitely enjoy extreme sport activities (bungee jumping, rock climbing, whitewater), but Ferris wheels scare me.
4. Grabbing coffee with friends is probably one of my favorite pastimes.
5. I can't emphasize enough how terrible my aim usually is... if I throw something at one of my sisters, they won't even flinch.
6. I love bonfires, and I think s'mores taste better without the chocolate.
7. I've been told since 8th grade that I look like Ally McBeal... for a long time, I didn't even know who that was.
8. I LOVE my 4 younger sisters... including my 4-yr-old foster sis!
9. I spend most of my time working in a youth ministry and coordinating events with 4others (www.4others.org) to fight poverty.
10. I can't stand the fact that 1 child dies every 5 seconds from hunger-related causes, especially because those deaths are COMPLETELY preventable. It only takes 24 cents to feed a child for a day!
Note: When you hunger, not only does it take away your chances of survival, but it also takes away the quality of your life. Every day is consumed by the need to find food. There is no time for education, work, or play. "The cycle is vicious--the poor are hungry and their hunger keeps them poor."
On April 27 & 28, we're hosting our city's 2nd Food 4others MobilePack. This is a two-day event where we hope to bring together 1,100 volunteers to hand-pack 225,000 meals for starving children in developing countries. Between now and then, we're raising the neccessary $54K for these meals.
