Reaching Cambodia's Most Vulnerable Populations

Founded in 1999 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Asian Hope formed in order to assume care for 30 orphaned and abandoned children in Phnom Penh originally in the care of Cambodian Outreach Project.  After 1 year in operation, C.O.P. decided to change ministry direction and location.  The C.O.P. orphanage manager assisted with the founding of Asian Hope in order to complete the vision and mission to these beautiful children.

Cambodia has had a turbulent past with lasting impact.  Poverty and a lack of education trap Cambodia’s people in a struggle for subsistence. Asian Hope believes the most effective way to transform Cambodia is by enabling younger generations to be catalysts of change who will lead their country. Therefore, Asian Hope is providing a family-like environment for at risk children, quality education, and life experiences that are preparing the children of Asian Hope to step into leadership roles. As teachers, doctors, nurses, IT professionals and business owners, these children will be able to influence their country in the love of Jesus and help revitalize Cambodia in a culturally relevant way.

Asian Hope is comprised of four primary outreach programs:

  1. A Boy’s Home and a Girl’s Home that currently care for 12 orphaned and abandoned children;
  2. Three of the most respected academic schools in Phnom Penh;
    1. KinderCare School (Ages 3 – Kindergarten)
    2. Logos International School (preschool-12thgrade)
    3. Asian Hope International School (Preschool through 3rdGrade);
  3. The Higher Education and Learning Program (HELP)
    1. College program for 16 high school graduates, (14 formerly of the Children’s Homes) to attend universities around the globe: ten in the United States, three in Thailand, two in Cambodia and one in India.
    2. Internship program for high school graduates to provide business, life and career experiences (includes The Sanctuary guesthouse in Phnom Penh, Cambodia – owned and operated by Asian Hope).
  4. Village Development Programworking in Prek Pneu to address and be part of the solution to eradicate the extreme poverty, public health concerns, exploitation and lack of education for vulnerable, at risk children.

Asian Hope started House of Hope(a Boys’ Home) and House of Faith(a Girls’ Home) for 30 abandoned, orphaned and at risk children in Phnom Penh. Before being brought to Asian Hope, these boys and girls were reduced to stealing or begging for food; one child was even forced to be a slave for unloving family members. Asian Hope welcomes your support as we give abused and abandoned boys and girls in Cambodia a stable environment in which they are nurtured emotionally, spiritually, academically and socially.

Asian Hope’s three schools listed above educate over 600 children from 26 nations every year.  Unlike other International Schools in Phnom Penh, nearly 60% of the students are Cambodian. The schools accommodate preschool and kindergarten, primary grades, and high school. Sponsorships totaling approximately $136,000 are offered to needy children in the community every year so that they, too, can receive a quality education at the Asian Hope schools.  To date, Asian Hope has offered over $1.1 Million in sponsorships to students in our programs.
