AUTISM SPEAKS INC wrote -
For the fourth year, Autism Speaks is proud to be a charity partner in the 2010 ING NYC Marathon. In 2009, our team of 132 dedicated runners raised over $480,000 to help individuals struggling with autism.
Running 26.2 miles is a challenge that most of us will never take on. Our runners embrace this challenge to help their children, their grandchildren, their nieces and their neighbors.
1 in 110 children is affected by autism. If you do not know someone who has autism, you will.
Autism Speaks is dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for autism; to raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and to bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder.
