THE STORY:
For over 70 years the Boston Crusaders have provided opportunities for marching members to experience an intensive program of music education and performance training. While we pride ourselves on our competitiveness we are equally gratified to provide a family environment where members are not just another dot on the field.
“My main improvement in marching with the Crusaders had to be my confidence, and performance abilities. Before summer I was kind of the shy kid in the class, who was to get a good grade and pass, but afterwards I became more outgoing, friendly, and confidant. Now, I try to get to know the people around me and be more proactive in class. Also, before the summer, I was deathly afraid of doing presentations or performances Now, I can go up in front of my class read what I need and barely get nervous, because I know that nervous is performing in front of thousands of people all over the country on quarterfinals, with the Big Loud and Live program at the movies, and performing in front thousands in a packed Lucas Oil Stadium.” Brian B., 2010 member
It is an enormous financial challenge to field a drum corps year after year. Our tuition covers only about one third of our operating budget.
