EVENT: 2011 ING New York City Marathon - $1 Mil a Mile

THE STORY:

B CURED wrote -

B*CURED builds awareness about brain cancer and funds research to develop a cure. Both the founders, Debbie and Melissa, lost a parent to glioblastoma, the most lethal and the most common form of brain cancer. In sharing our stories, we realized that there wasn't enough support for patients and their families, there weren't many promising treatment options and the survival rates were discouraging.

Our closest friends and several local neurosurgeons shared our vision and committed their talents to help get B*CURED off the ground. Now 3 years and 3 grants for cutting edge brain cancer research later, B*CURED is making important strides in the race to cure brain cancer.

We want to replicate the success of the breast and prostate cancer models where aggressive funding of research leads to early detection and an array of treatment options decreasing the toll of this devastating cancer. We will not rest until we cure brain cancer!

Our B*CURED ING NYC Marathon Team is dedicating their athletic and fundraising talents to get the word out and to fund more critical brain cancer research. They are awesome so please support them generously!
