This is the 2nd year for Barb, Gwen & Margaret Peyton to support Donate Life CT in the 5K Event. On May 5, 2011 our husband & father, Chris Peyton, received the gift of life from a woman whom we had never met. We do not even know her name, yet Chris is alive today because she was an organ donor. Chris was suffering with end stage liver disease and without a new liver would not have survived the year. Our family is profoundly grateful to her family for their precious gift. We mourn with them for the loss of their loved one and pray for them every day. We hope that knowing how many lives have been touched by her gift of life will bring them comfort. Gwen, Margaret & I are walking in the 5K event to support Donate Life Connecticut to raise awareness of organ, eye & tissue donation!

Donate Life Connecticut is dedicated to increasing the number of registered organ and tissue donors through outreach and education. Our organization is Volunteer driven...people that have received an organ/tissue transplant, donor families whose loved ones gave the gift of life, living donors, friends and family. We are all passionate about sharing our stories and raising awareness.
Right here in Connecticut more than 1,260 men, women and children wait for a life-saving transplant...and more than 114,000 Americans wait nationwide. Unfortunately, 18 people will die every day simply because an organ did not come in time. We want to change these statistics. More registered donors means more transplants...MORE LIVES SAVED.
