Support our mission by creating your own fundraiser.
BATI School is a nonprofit organization focused on making long-term investments in education through the use of agriculture, bringing about sustainable solutions and long-lasting change for the future leaders of Haiti. The school will be an all girls elementary school in Miragoane, Haiti, 51 miles / 81km southwest of the capital Port-au-Prince. Your donation will go towards building and maintaining the school's campus in order to provide an exceptional education to our students.
We seek to provide a nurturing yet demanding learning environment that fosters both high academic achievement and a sense of responsibility. Since Haiti has abundant natural resources, we believe that agriculture can be a critical tool to help the girls of our school and Haiti at large, creating a stronger, wealthier and more independent future. In this process, the self-respect, creativity and confidence they develop will make them an example for the next generation of Haitian leaders.
Haiti has many bright spots; among these are the availability of vast intrinsic resources. We have 5 acres of arable land allocated specifically for the school's use, with several producing mango trees already on site. Ultimately we envision creating a self-sufficient environment where some of the harvested crops will be used as a source of nourishment for our students. The remaining produce will be used to generate income for the continued development of the school’s campus.
