All donors will get a chance to win two tickets to the 2012 American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards™ black-tie gala on October 6 in Los Angeles, California to meet Betty face-to-face.

The American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards™ were created in 2010 to celebrate the special relationship between dogs and people.

Presented by the Lois Pope LIFE Foundation and broadcast nationwide on Hallmark Channel, the Hero Dog Awards is an annual national competition that searches out and recognizes America’s Hero Dogs in 8 different categories – often ordinary dogs who do extraordinary things, whether it’s saving lives on the battlefield, lending sight or hearing to a human companion, or simply the tail-wagging welcome a pet owner relishes at the end of a hard day.
 
With some 3 million votes, winners in each category were selected by the public from a pool of over 350 contestants.  Each of the 8 finalists will be flown to Hollywood with two of their human friends to attend the American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards black-tie gala at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California. 

There they will walk the red carpet, attend the show which will be broadcast on Hallmark Channel on November 8, and be recognized in a video tribute.
