EVENT: Bounce Back for Alzheimers

THE STORY:
According to recent studies, more African-Americans get Alzheimer’s disease than Caucasians. Many people may not realize that they have Alzheimer’s disease. Often, people think that the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease are just the signs of "old age." They do not go to their doctor until the disease is more advanced and there are fewer ways that the doctor can help them.
Compared with Caucasians, African-Americans are at a greater risk for high blood pressure and stroke, which can lead to an increased chance of developing Alzheimer’s disease. African-Americans also have a 60% higher risk of type 2 diabetes, which can also lead to memory problems.
Bounce Back Against Alzheimer's is a Non-profit Charity for the Alzheimer's Association to help raise awareness of the disease in the urban community. By donating you are helping the fight against Alzheimer's.
