THE STORY:

MWCT is a huge part of our lives and we were so thrilled to have so many of our friends come out and get involved.
On our last trip to Kenya with a gang of our dearest friends, we decided to raise some funds to build a boma for the disabled members of the Maasai community.
In the villages anyone who has a disability is seen as a burden and hidden away from sight.
The hope is that if we can help these people become self sufficient and productive members of society then the tribe will embrace them and the shame will be lifted.
The boma MWCT will build will be tricked out so that wheelchairs will be able to get in and out and to meet the needs of the approximately 28 people it will serve. These people will receive training in crafts and beading and tourists will be sent to visit to purchase their goods.
Building is expesive in this area. This is outside the budget of MWCT's work in the area and that is why we are asking all of our friends and family to get involved and help us fundraise.
