Please help Brian Bowen Smith along with The Art of Elysium to raise money for the Teen Power Diabetic Support Group through Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. These teens and families meet weekly to strengthen coping strategies on how to deal with their everyday struggles with diabetes. We are in need of funds for their weekly meals; we would like to teach the teens how to make healthy food choices.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Art of Elysium has paired with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and The Teen Power Diabetic Support Group to provide artistic workshops for their weekly sessions. Teen Power is a ten week, 2-hour group therapy intervention for adolescents between 13 and 17 years of age with Type 1 Diabetes.

The purpose of this group is to encourage effective coping strategies, to decrease symptoms of depression as well as promote development of positive body image, self-esteem, and social skills. The Art of Elysium provides many different art activities throughout the 10 weeks to help bring the group together and express their feelings about their medical condition; yoga ,dance and boxing for their assertiveness training, stress management and self-esteem; collage art to express body image; poetry and songwriting for self-expression and a chef to help the teenagers to make healthy food choices.

Mission:The Art of Elysium, a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization founded in 1997, encourages working actors, artists and musicians to voluntarily dedicate their time and talent to children who are battling serious medical conditions. We provide artistic workshops in the following disciplines: acting, art, comedy, fashion, music, radio, songwriting and creative writing.
