My name is Jonathan Brier... My mission is to improve our world through supporting innovative charities. This drive has been spurred through the years of my existence, my journey to Eagle Scout, my interactions with the world, and the teachings of my parents.
My passions include:
The environment – The future of our existence depends on the actions we take today. We need to make improvements to the way we manage our air, water, and earth. This does mean some sacrifice in the ways of old, but so goes with the evolution of humans. We adapt to new way that work with our world. I look forward to supporting sustainable (both environmentally and financially) charities.
Science and Technology – I support ways to improve the world by providing simple yet effective improvements to our ability to track and treat disease, predict natural disasters, journey to and explain the unknown, or create safer more efficient homes through modeling. A major area I support is called Volunteer Computing and Citizen Science where we as individuals contribute time or brain power to projects that impact us at home and others worldwide with no previous experience necessary. My favorite effort is GridRepublic.
Education – Our country, our kids, and their future all depend on one thing... Proper education. From my traveling around and meeting the people I realized that have been very lucky in my education and I would like to help bring that to more kids around the world.
I volunteer my time when I can to helping spread the information about ways people can get involved in volunteer initiatives from their computer, phone, or other Internet enabled device in their spare time.
