CHARITY WEBSITE: Brookline Arts Center
Founded in 1964, the Brookline Arts Center offers art exhibitions and classes in painting, drawing, sculpture, pottery and jewelry for adults and children. Through its gallery exhibition opportunities, its teaching positions, and its annual Crafts Showcase, the Brookline Arts Center is committed to supporting working professional artists, and to inspiring students to love and create art.
Twelve Brookline Public School students (grades 4 through 7) will receive Patricia Gadsby Awards for artistic achievement from the Brookline Arts Center on Wednesday, June 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. This awards ceremony will take place at the Arts Center, and is free and open to the public. The Gadsby Awards are named after Patricia Rasmussen Gadsby, who served as Brookline Arts Center Community Advisor from 1980 to 1990. She was an enthusiastic, loyal and creative friend to the Center throughout her life. The Gadsby Awards were established to honor Tricia’s spirit, her love of the arts and her ability to inspire those around her. With the Gadsby Awards, the Brookline Arts Center hopes to encourage Brookline students to study and create art, and to think creatively.
