HERE'S THE STORY:
For my birthday I am throwing a party to help give school supplies to children in need in the Boston Area through the Cradles to Crayons' Ready for School campaign.
All I ask is that you come with a "birthday gift" of new school supplies that I can donate to Cradles to Crayons. It doesn't have to be a lot. You can come with a pack of pencils, two 50 cent highlighters from Staples, markers, a binder, or a notebook.
If you don't have time to go "back to school shopping" you can give online right here on Crowdrise by clicking "Donate". If we make $15.00 we can sponsor a brand new backpack for a Boston kid getting ready to go back to school. At my office we've already sponsored FOUR new backpacks! My goal is to supply 2 new backpacks through Crowdrise.
I think that this will be a fun way to do some good without having to break the bank doing it, and a good enough reason for me to justify throwing my own birthday party.
To sweeten up the deal, I'll be serving some of my back to school favorites like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and mac n' cheese to celebrate! If anyone else has a particular favorite school food or snack let me know and I'll do my best to make your mama proud. OH, and I WILL have drinks available. Perhaps some "adult" juice boxes.
You're welcome to come with friends, and for my friends with children, YES, babies ALLOWED! Just make sure to mark how many of you will be coming. I want to be sure I have enough food and "juice" for everyone!
