Caballona School Kitchen
SKIP 1 CHARITIES INC
DEADLINE TO GIVE: Sep 01, 2010
HOURS PLEDGED: 25
HERE'S THE STORY:
There's a huge need for a kitchen at the Lumbrera de Caballona School in the Dominican Republic. Of the 100-plus children attending the school, 60% are Haitian, and most arrive not having eaten breakfast and quite possibly not having eaten a meal the night before. The school needs $6,500 USD to build a kitchen in order to feed the children lunch 5 days a week and to expand its bathroom facilities (currently one toilet serves the entire school). To see the school and hear Skip1.org's founder Shelene Bryan talking about the kitchen project, cut & paste this link and watch the short video | http://vimeo.com/12380336
