HERE'S THE STORY:
Caboodle Ranch is a 30 acre non-profit cat rescue society founded by a single individual who cared enough to make a difference in the lives of our fuzzy little friends. Since 2003, Caboodle Ranch has accepted felines from around the United States to provide them with a permanent sanctuary. Everything on the ranch is there for the benefit of the cats.
The medical care of the Caboodle kitties is overseen by a local veterinarian and the ranch is visited by volunteer veterinarians and assistants from around the U.S. The ranch has received national and international attention. Television shows from as far as Japan have featured news from ranch. Animal Planet chose to include the ranch in their pilot episode of their new series “Must Love Cats” which is set to air in January 2011.
Operating the Caboodle Ranch is not easy. It is a full-time job for founder Craig Grant and he works 14 hours a day, seven days a week caring for his kitties and maintaining the ranch, which is supported solely by donations.
CURRENT RANCH NEEDS:
Caboodle Ranch needs an infirmary. The actual building will cost $4800 and the cost to get it up and running is an additional $3900. They’ve raised $2500 already, but still need another $6200.
The infirmary is so important to Craig and the Caboodles for so many reasons. Not only will it be a new and better medical center for cats in need, and a nursery for rescued mothers and their babies, but it will be a place where Craig can sleep and be closer to all the cats that need him the most. Right now it’s not easy for him to check in on the cats that require constant attention because at night there’s not enough light for him to easily find his way from one place to the next. (It’s dark in the woods!)
He wouldn’t like this known, but realize that Craig is sixty-two years old. He works so hard all day, every day, (in the crazy Florida heat) without a break and without steady volunteers to help. (Remember, there are 500+ cats to tend to.) And at the end of a long day, he sleeps in a recliner in the back room of an old office trailer. This has never bothered him… he’s never complained.
This infirmary would be such a great gift and awesome upgrade for Caboodle Ranch, so please consider making a donation. If you can’t donate at this time, simply passing along this message would be a great way to get involved.
