June vote for you!

The summer is here, and school is out! But even though students are enjoying the sun, we're still working hard to bring resources to low-income schools, libraries, and communities. Reader to Reader's work doesn't stop with the school year, and becomes even more important. More than half of the achievement gap between lower- and higher-income youth comes from unequal access to summer learning opportunities. Low-income kids can lose up to two months of reading ability over the summer, while middle-class children make slight gains. Now more than ever it is essential that books are available to low-income children. Help us make this possible with your support today.

Thank you,
Kat

A spring vote for you!
With all the headlines screaming disaster and heartache, it's easy to get disheartened. Reader to Reader has supported schools damaged by tornadoes, public libraries devastated by flooding, and communities deeply affected by local tragedy. But each day we see examples of how much good is out there. That goodness is not always in the headlines. Sometimes, it's tucked quietly away, but it's there, and is the very reason we do this work--to bring books and other resources to the next generation that so richly deserves them.
Reader to Reader needs your help to get books in the hands of children across the country. Will you donate or join our team? Your support makes a difference!
Thanks,
Kat

Stuff About Me:

President - National Wildlife Humane Society - (NWHS)

Founder/Director - Top Of The Rock Wildlife Sanctuary (for 20+ years)
Writer, poet, musician, artist and wildlife conservationist.

Wildlife conservation and preservation is the center of my universe. My work for NWHS and 20+ years of wildlife rescue/sanctuary has always been 100% voluntary. I have actually spent up to half my job income most years, making the sanctuary and NWHS become a reality.

It is the wildlife and wild places that are this Earth's true reality. Humans will never improve on this reality. At best we can only maintain it, or worse, destroy it. Biologists agree that removing too many wild species (or the wrong ones) would bring about the end of the human race. How's that for reality?

The problem is, we don't know how many (or which ones) of the wild species we can remove before we bring about our own demise, yet we play dice with their existence (and consequently our own). Considering the loss of wildlife could mean the end of the human race, what problem is more important? All human problems would seem rather moot, if there were no more humans. Right?

"A World Without Wildlife Is A World Not Fit For Humans"
Humans have appointed ourselves as the Gardeners of this Earth. How are we doing so far? Here's a few thoughts...

Please consider joining a Team on one of my wildlife Projects. Or, simply donate..
100% of your donation goes to your chosen wildlife Project (less CR fees).
