I'm a photographer, writer, musician, and blogger and I love using these skills to raise awareness about enviromental, childrens rights, animal rights, and human rights issues. I started volunteering in downtown Orlando at a camp for underprivledged youth when I was 10 years old. Two years later I became a camp counselor and since then I have loved working with children and teaching them about the world.
On Tuesday, January 12, 2010, Haiti was devestated by a earthquake that effected an estimated three million people. It was also my 23rd birthday. Most people would say that it was a coincidence but for me, it wasn't. I felt like it was a personal call for me to come to the aid of the world. Since then, I have taken my activism even more seriously.
I was lucky enough to be raised by a tree hugging mom who taught me how to live green and treat others with kindness. I know that living green is a challenge for many people but it has always been second nature to me because I have never lived any other way. I am always trying to teach others quick, easy things that they can do to live a greener lifestyle.
My goal is to have a million little victories because I know the little differences add up to make the big differences. Seeing a child's eyes light up because you made their dream a possibility, teaching someone how to properly recycle, saving an animal from being taken from their home. Each and every day counts when we are working towards a better tomorrow.
