PERSONAL WEBSITE: Able Flight
ROCK PAPER OR SCISSORS: Rock
STUFF ABOUT ME:

I have one of the best jobs in the world:
I run Able Flight, the nonprofit organization that makes it possible for people with physical disabilities to become pilots. They are people who use wheelchairs, people who have lost limbs, and wounded veterans. Their stories are amazing and I get to watch their lives change forever in just a few months. Check out Able Flight here on crowdrise or at www.ableflight.org.

And check out Freedom Flight 2011. It's a project being organized and run by two of Able Flight's pilots, Heather Schultz and Sean O'Donnell. They were both paralyzed in accidents, and because of their hard work and determination, and with the help of Able Flight, they are now licensed pilots!

They will be flying a 1000 mile trip to meet with wounded vets in different cities to inspire them to overcome their own challenges. And they are asking for your help by donating any amount per mile to make it possible for wounded vets to become pilots.

WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME:

You could vote, or better yet, you can change someone's life by donating to Freedom Flight 2011 or directly to Able Flight.

'May the Votes' be ever in your favor :)

Imagine Scholar is looking for birthday lovers to spread the ultimate birthday joy! Our Imagine Scholar students have never been able to celebrate their birthdays, let alone eat cake - but you can change that!!! For only $20, a student can be provided joy in it's purest form and get to taste the delicacy we know as cake :) In addition, we'll send you the pictures of the memories you helped create!!

Cheers,

Happy May! It’s finally spring, and kids will soon be running out the school doors into sweet summer freedom. But over 19,000,000 children across the country do not own a single book. Can you imagine a summer without even a little fun reading?

Please take a minute to check out Reader to Reader's newest fundraiser with Twive & Receive: http://twive.razoo.com/story/Amherst-Loves-Books Your donation on June 14th could help us win a share of $30,000! Now more than ever, the smallest donation can have a huge impact. You can sign up for a reminder email on our page, or if you just can't wait to get books in the hands of children, donate now. Thank you for your support!

Happy April, CR friend!
Reader to Reader is auctioning off some great artwork to raise funds for our many international programs, thanks to our friends at the ART4GOOD Foundation. If you like art, books, or education, stop by and take a look at the 35 beautiful pieces available! http://bit.ly/HjFtMO
You get a beautiful piece of art, and RTR can:
-provide special education programs for children in the Dominican Republic;
-teach women to read in Nigeria;
-keep abandoned children in childhood through reading and improve theater in rural China;
-sponsor Haitian kids to finish school;
-continue to grow our public library in a coffee-farming Costa Rican village;
AND support many other programs that do wonderful work in India, Mexico, Nicaragua, Kosovo, Ghana and other countries.
If art isn’t your thing, you can still support our programs by donating or joining our team. Take a look at my projects to see more of what we do.
All the best, and HAPPY READING,
Kat
