Children of Africa needs pencils, uniforms, paper, and most of all a new bathroom (they use a hole in the ground!!!)

STUFF ABOUT ME:
I am one who cares but can't figure out how to make it happen. I chose this school on a whim and once I visited it I can't turn my head and forget about it or the children there. I need to make a difference in order to not be sad or empty so this is going to be my way. My two young children have a good life and others should have the same opportunities as Colin and Charlotte. Lastly - this is for my mom who died in August 2009 from a short bout with cancer. She loved Kenya and it's people. More importantly - she gave her money to many in need in Africa. She is a shining example to us all.
This school has no paper, little pencils, no room at tables for all, no playground, no running water to wash hand with; no toilets (holes in floor), yet it has wonderfully sweet children and dedicated teachers. These children need someone to care and help. Their parents work in the flower farms in Naivasha all day and can't provide enough for these children. I was blown away at what this mission is doing with so little. I think that I was the first visitor in quite a while...it is the little school and mission that no one knows about.
I have been very lucky in my life and blessed. But I also have always felt the weight of the world's problems on my shoulders. I need to help others and know that I can make a difference even if it is small. I have an incredible family and some mind-blowing friends. I look forward to sharing this with them and others!
WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME:
Don't vote for me...vote for Children of Africa. If these young children did not have this school they would sit on the streets begging; go hungry every day; and not learn how to even write their names. Give up your Big Mac one day; your Starbucks Latte; or your new cd or pair of shoes and HELP THESE CHILDREN!!!!
