Right Action for Women is something I started to help women afford the early detection breast MRI that saved my life. Please help.

STUFF ABOUT ME:

I can't tell you how excited I am to use this platform to help raise money for some of the charities that are most important to me. Nonprofit organizations are amazing, and they're run by the most hardworking and selfless people. They all really need our support, so I'm glad I'm able to help raise awareness for them and spread the word.

One charity that is close to my heart is the Surfrider Foundation. I've lived near the beach for years and have seen first-hand the effects of pollution on our coastlines and oceans. Surfrider Foundation has done an AMAZING job protecting our oceans. With everything happening in the Gulf right now, I think it's imperative that we take the time to do our part and give back in any way we can.

I'm also in the process of launching my own charity, Right Action For Women. It's a program that will help give financial aid to high-risk women who can't afford to get MRIs, which is how I found my cancer.

We'll also do genetic counselling and help women understand what being high-risk means, what foods are good for their bloods, and how to prevent this disease from happening. That has been my mission.

Please check out my project below for the Surfrider Foundation. Even the smallest donation goes a long way. If you can't donate, no problem, join my project team and help spread the word to all of your friends and family. The more we get the word out, the better we're able to make a difference.

Thanks everyone,
Christina

Happy May! It’s finally spring, and kids will soon be running out the school doors into sweet summer freedom. But over 19,000,000 children across the country do not own a single book. Can you imagine a summer without even a little fun reading?

Please take a minute to check out Reader to Reader's newest fundraiser with Twive & Receive: http://twive.razoo.com/story/Amherst-Loves-Books Your donation on June 14th could help us win a share of $30,000! Now more than ever, the smallest donation can have a huge impact. You can sign up for a reminder email on our page, or if you just can't wait to get books in the hands of children, donate now. Thank you for your support!

Hi Christina!

My name is Megan and I just joined the Imagine Scholar team down in South Africa (with Corey Johnson). I am so stoked about the projects we have in the works, but am very new to the Crowdrise world- so could use a lot of guidance and advice!!! Please feel free to share any of your expertise and be sure to check out our brand new 'Super Cool Water Cooler' project that we just rolled out to provide our students fresh, clean drinking water.

Cheers!

Happy April, CR friend!
Reader to Reader is auctioning off some great artwork to raise funds for our many international programs, thanks to our friends at the ART4GOOD Foundation. If you like art, books, or education, stop by and take a look at the 35 beautiful pieces available! http://bit.ly/HjFtMO
You get a beautiful piece of art, and RTR can:
-provide special education programs for children in the Dominican Republic;
-teach women to read in Nigeria;
-keep abandoned children in childhood through reading and improve theater in rural China;
-sponsor Haitian kids to finish school;
-continue to grow our public library in a coffee-farming Costa Rican village;
AND support many other programs that do wonderful work in India, Mexico, Nicaragua, Kosovo, Ghana and other countries.
If art isn’t your thing, you can still support our programs by donating or joining our team. Take a look at my projects to see more of what we do.
All the best, and HAPPY READING,
Kat
