STUFF ABOUT ME:
I'm super excited to have found Crowdrise...and I've officially become an addict! It's wonderful to have a platform to display all the causes you support, and even more importantly, see the combined impact it is making. Looooove it.
Anywho...about me. Hmmm....I work in a cubicle most of the week. But I schedule [spoken language] interpreters for the Massachusetts Trial Court which is better filling out TPS reports all week at Initech. (Although sometimes I do want to smash our fax machine with a bat...that scene in Office Space is magical) I like books...a lot. My favorite color is green...like bright ass green. I only ever crave three foods: macaroni & cheese, bbq chicken pizza, and ice cream sandwiches. I swoon over John Cusack. I love adventure...and sometimes am a little TOO spontaneous. I have THE coolest husky in the world named Aspen. Aaaaand I'm a 40 year old virgin!! (Just kidding on the last one...I felt pressured into a grand finale)

KICK ALZHEIMER'S IN THE ASS
In advanced Alzheimer’s, people need help with
bathing, dressing, using the bathroom, eating and
other daily activities. Those in the final stages of the
disease lose their ability to communicate, fail to
recognize loved ones and become bed-bound and
reliant on 24/7 care. The inability to move around in
late-stage Alzheimer’s disease can make a person
more vulnerable to infections, including pneumonia
(infection of the lungs). AND Alzheimer’s disease is ultimately
fatal...
In fact, Alzheimer’s disease is the seventh-leading cause
of death across ALL ages in the United States. (It ranks 5th for those 65+)
Millions of Americans (5.3 million) now have Alzheimer’s
disease or another dementia. More women
than men have dementia, primarily because
women live longer, on average, than men. (SCARY!!)
By 2050, the number of individuals aged 65 and
older with Alzheimer’s is projected to number
between 11 million and 16 million — unless medical
breakthroughs identify ways to prevent or more
effectively treat the disease. (EVEN SCARIER!! I'll be that old when 2050 rolls around...)
So let's beat this!!!
Seriously, and even if you're lucky enough NOT to know someone affected by Alzheimer's...then in the very least The Notebook made you cry.
