I'm Secretary of the Ama Foundation, a US-based grassroots non-profit that is the only source of funding for Ama Ghar, a home for children just outside Kathmandu, Nepal. My husband and I have visited these children for the last 6 years, on our travels around the world, and I can tell you that these are lives that shouldn't be wasted. Although they've endured experiences in their lives that are unimaginable to us, they are cheerful, bright, ambitious kids who just need a home, family and education - which is what they get from Ama Foundation.
