BENEFITING: PRIDE FOUNDATION
THE STORY:
At PRIDE Industries Foundation, we're on a mission to expand employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
We all know unemployment is a major problem in our country right now. But you may not know that unemployment is even higher for people with disabilities. Right now in America, 70% of working-age adults without disabilities are employed - but only 21% of working age adults with disabilities are employed.
We're working to change that by supporting efforts to create jobs for people with disabilities, and services that prepare people with disabilities for employment and provide on-going supports to ensure long-term employment success. Examples of projects we support include: vocational training, career planning, transportation to/from work, assistive technology, job coaching, job prep services for at-risk youth, and tool kits for people with disabilities looking to work in technical trades (electricians, plumbers, HVAC repair, etc.).
100% of all donations that we receive go directly to program services to benefit people with disabilities (our overhead costs are funded through our earned income).
