It will take anywhere from 3 seconds to 1 minute for your pic to upload, depending on how big it is.
You're going to see this message every time you post a new pic. So, we're making the text really long so that it'll take you at least five picture uploads to read it all. Here's what we're thinking...While you're first picture is uploading think about someone you want to kiss. When you upload your second pic think about one friend who you can beat in a race. On your third photo upload think about your favorite food that begins with the letter H. While your fourth picture is uploading think about how great it would be if you were a world class breakdancer. While your fifth picture is uploading try to think of the best candy to eat if you were a mime spending a month in New Zealand. If you upload a sixth and seventh picture please just read all of this again.
We're setting up your Project page right now. It will take anywhere from 3 seconds to 27 seconds. We recommend spending the time trying to stare at this box without blinking.
Crowdrise is designed to help Volunteers and Fundraisers answer the call to service, raise money for Charity, and have the most fun in the world while doing it. To make sure we don't go out of business trying to help everyone raise lots of money for Charity, Crowdrise deducts 5% on donations made through our site and a $1 transaction fee for donations under $25 or a $2.50 transaction fee for donations $25 and over.
For example, with a $100 donation:
$100 Donation
-$5.00 (5%) Crowdrise's not wanting to go out of business fee
-$2.50 Transaction Fee
$92.50 goes to Charity

Give your Project Page a Title so everyone knows what you're doing. Your Project Title does not need to be the name of the Charity you're supporting. It can be anything you want (e.g. Veronica's Volunteering at the Soup Kitchen, Davey's New York Marathon Fundraiser, Super Naked Beach Cleaning, etc).

My mom asked me to write this because she had no idea what a URL is. A URL is the web address that you use to get to a web page. For example, the URL for Google is www.google.com. The URL for Crowdrise is www.crowdrise.com. We let you pick your own Crowdrise URL, mostly because it's nice to have a URL that's easy to remember and is personal to you. So, if your name is Victor Wang, maybe you want your URL to be www.crowdrise.com/victorwang. Or if your Project Title is Save the Whales, maybe you want your URL to be www.crowdrise.com/savethewhales. You only need to type in the part that comes after www.crowdrise.com/.
If that's still confusing, you can just skip this and we'll pick a URL for you.
This is the most important and most exciting part of Crowdrise. Your Fundraising Goal is the amount of money you hope to raise for Charity. Whether you're volunteering on weekends, running in a marathon, or have a cause you care deeply about, we make it super easy for you to raise money online for a Charity of your choice (you'll choose the charity during this sign up process). You get 10 Crowdrise Points for every $1 you raise and everyone will like you better when you raise lots of money.

There's no better way to make a Project viral than by creating or joining a Project Team.
A Project Team is a group of Fundraisers or Volunteers, all working together for a common cause. It's like communism but more fun. Start or Join a Project Team if you want to go beyond donating money and get more involved by spreading the word about the Project to your friends, family, co-workers, etc. Everyone on the Team gets their own Project Page with the click of a button so we make it quick and easy to join the Team and even easier to tell your friends about it. Donating cash to a Project is amazing and much appreciated but imagine the impact you can have if you go a step further and ask everyone you know to donate too. And then a couple of them join the Team and spread the word to all their friends. We've seen this work successfully over and over and it can work for this Project too.
If you have any question about how to Join or set up a Team on Crowdrise, please Contact Us.

We're so confident of the benefits of being a Featured Charity that Crowdrise is guaranteeing your satisfaction during the first year of your subscription. If at the conclusion of that first year, you are dissatisfied with your benefits, we will refund the portion of the $299 Featured Charity fee that you believe was not satisfactory and provide a donation in that amount to your Charity. For example, should you believe that the Featured Charity fee only was worth $249 to your Charity, instead of $299, we will provide a $50 credit in the form of donation to your Charity. This promotion expires February 1, 2011 and does not apply to any fees charged as a result of an automatic renewal of your Featured Charity subscription. All requests for donations must be received by Crowdrise on or before February 1, 2011. If you have any questions or just want to talk, please Contact Us.
To receive your donations received through Crowdrise via Electronic Funds Transfer directly into your Charity's bank account, please fax the following information to 248.498.6842. This is a totally safe and secure process.
