HCP's program in Ethiopia started in 2007 in the Tigray region in the north and consists of training local ophthalmologists and eye care staff at our flagship training facility in Nepal; transferring specialized ophthalmic skills through high-volume cataract workshops at two hospitals; providing high-quality ophthalmic equipment and purchasing a 13-seater landcruiser for transporting patients. The need in Ethiopia is great. Please help us increase the cataract surgical rate in Ethiopia by helping us to invest in the countries local capacity.
