Stuff About Me:
I am a single working mother of a 20 month old little boy...He is my heart and soul. I teach Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Lyrical, History of American Dance, and Dance Nutrition. I have a BA in Psychology. I have a rescued stray cat named, The Outlaw Josey Wales. I love the smell of pavement after it rains. I have lived all over the world, and can't get enough. I love all children. I try to love all of humanity as well. I move and shake, and try to get others to join me- both in the dance studio and in the community! I would like to do more, be more, say more, give more!!! I guess I have something to work at :-)
...I am the Foundation Manager for the NNY Autism Center. My son is not autistic, but I know so many families affected by autism that I devote most of my time trying to raise awareness in the community and raise money to help under insured families of autistic children get the medical treatment they need and deserve. We have an amazing clinic here at the center, and we are making a difference in so many people's lives, it's truly awe-inspiring. We can't do it alone though! Already we are treating as many children and adults as we can, with little or no funding- out of personal pockets and by the good graces of the few that have sponsored us in the past. We are trying to get NYS to help us out by working with us on insurance related matters, so that the families of the children and individuals we treat can get a financial break. We have trained medical professionals, that when not treating individuals with autism, they are doing research and publishing articles to change the face of autism and educate as many as possible on the findings. We now have several patients in India!! Our reach and knowledge is ever expanding, but unfortunately our pockets are emptying. We need your help!!! Please. I wish there was something we could offer in return for your generosity, but positive vibrations, the knowledge that you've helped to change lives, and a warm fuzzy feeling will have to do for now.
