David, thanks for adding me as a friend. I'm going to the Pine Ridge Reservation, and need some help. I am going to document the past, and present effects of corporate globalization upon the First Nations people of the area, and how the uranium mines are devastating the local environment. I'm in the process of getting the gear all together and don't have allot of time to spend on the computer, so as much help that could be provided in spreading the word would be awesome. Please check out my 11 to 1 Project. In January I ran my first race in memory of my cousin Abdul Bayyan Madyun for the 11 to 1 Project benefiting Be the Match. On July 16th, I will be running my 10th race and I'm $87 away from my $100 goal. For every $100 raised is a potential bone marrow donor added to the Be the Match Registry. Please donate to the 11 to 1 Project .

I enjoy the start of a race as much as finishing it. I want to know that I ran start to finish to help others!

There are so many teenagers that are struggeling daily with being discriminated for who they are, just because of who they love. This is not right and we need to show the world that equal rights counts for all no matter who we are or what we do in life. No one has the right to judge others. The Trevor Project is the only helpline through telephone for gay teens in all of USA!! and so therefore this is a very important organisasation to support. Hey CrowdRise! A bit about me... I'm a young American activist, researcher, student and aspiring writer, and I've met the love of my life, Caitlin. I graduated from the University of North Florida with a BA in Political Science, double-minoring in Public Administration and Urban & Metropolitan Studies. I'm also currently in my first semester pursuing a Master's degree from the Urban Studies and Planning program at the University of Maryland - College Park. My interests lie primarily in political issues, especially those regarding poverty on the global and national scale, urban planning, environmental conservation, conflict resolution, and space exploration and research. Like most political junkies, I love talking about elections and campaigns as well.

My other interests span far and wide, including world cultures and history, musical theatre, science fiction, wildlife, video games, urban development, and travel. I have also been to northern India with my fiancée to study the Tibetan refugee situation.

I'm currently working as a research assistant for Wiley-Blackwell, helping a previous professor of mine by writing up boxes for an urban studies textbook on a wide range of urban topics.
