www.dogsindanger.com is a free service that has thousands of shelter dog photos from across the country posted on their site with a countdown to when the dog will be put down due to overcrowding. They have an 86% success rate and have saved 31,000 dogs. The are amazing - and saving lives every day.
(And if you're inclined to, please donate 25 dollars in honor of all the doggies who didn't make it-like some of the guys to the left. Dogs in Danger is an all-volunteer run organization and they need to be doubling/tripling/quadrupling the number of dogs saved every year - which requires hiring one or two people to be on the phone with shelters every single day signing them up).
