Dwankhozi Hope is a registered 501(c)(3) organization based in Seattle, whose purpose is to support the Dwankhozi Hope Community School in Zambia and provide hope to economically disadvantaged children within this community. The underlying philosophy is to empower the community by creating a partnership that leads to the development of their community and growth of their children through education.
Where there is education, there is hope; where there is hope – all things are possible. Dwankhozi Community School is more than a school – we believe it can be a catalyst for change in the world. The potential that lies within each of these children and the adults who support them is a tremendous treasure. Who knows where they will go, what they will do, what leaders they will become in their communities, or their country, or the world.
The mission is fundamentally relational as we look to walk along side them in this endeavor. DH has walked with the Community since 2006 and has witnessed tremendous growth in the area and in the school. In the past five years DH has supported the construction of multiple school buildings, the provision of critical school supplies, funding for continued education, and teachers housing. DH has also led an effort to provide safe clean water to the community and improve sanitation systems to the school. We look to provide continued support for the basic school with projects such as providing solar lighting as well as expanding educational opportunities through the construction of a new high school. DH is also exploring ways to address health concerns in the region through medical mission trips, health education, and partnerships with local clinics. The main objective of DH is to help the Dwankhozi community “break the cycle of poverty and reach their God-given potential. .
