THE STORY:

Last year after a very long and brave fight we lost an incredible man to leukemia. His name was Gil and he was my father-in-law. Gil loved nothing more than being with his family, kayacking, and reading the newspaper in his chair with his dog at his feet while enjoying his coffee.
This year I have decided to dedicate my first double marathon to Gil's memory by raising money from my race to support Be The Match Foundation, an organization that raises funds to help leukemia patients who need a bone marrow or umbilical cord blood transplant find a donor and receive treatment.
While Gil would never have wanted to run 52.4 miles himself (and would actually have thought it was too far to even drive) he was a generous man in all aspects of his life. Thank you for giving whatever you can to help fight leukemia in Gil's memory.
