WHAT WE DO:

Expedition Balance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to helping combat veterans cope with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Expedition Balance was created by combat veterans for combat veterans suffering from PTSD. Our staff is made up of veterans as well. We are funded entirely by donations and have a simple, but incredibly important, mission: To help fellow American combat veterans suffering from PTSD and other “invisible” injuries regain their balance in life.

We do this by offering life-affirming non-clinical experiences with their peers, where they can experience and learn principles and practices that will help them regain their lives.

Though we work in cooperation with the V.A., our treatment does not take place in a medical facility. It takes place in the healthy environment of nature with the familiar dynamic of a group of soldiers taking care of each other.

WHY SUPPORT US:

We are raising $100K to help US combat vets overcome PTSD. Your donation will help pay for the cost of a vet to attend Expedition Balance.

The magnitude of this problem is evidenced by the following stats:
- 18 veterans commit suicide each day. 126 each week. 6,552 each year.
- PTSD can often lead to alcohol and drug abuse, and domestic violence.
- Soldiers with PTSD are more likely to be divorced, be a single parent or become homeless.
- 200,000 veterans go homeless each night. 45% suffer from PTSD or mental illness.
- Many women suffer from PTSD, but fewer receive help because they weren’t in “direct combat”.
- Female service members also experience PTSD from sexual trauma while in service.
- Many soldiers with PTSD don’t seek help because they fear it may hurt their careers.
