It is through Agros's Insperation that we started Konaa Social Marketplace. Two years ago, on my way back from a micro-finance conference in Seattle, I had a thought: how can we use social media to expand distribution in developing nations to create self-sustainability for small business entrepreneurs? It didn’t take me long to realize that self-sustainability is a universal principle, regardless of geolocation or demographic. Let me introduce, Konaa Social Marketplace.
Simply, Konaa is a social discovery marketplace bridging the gap between communication, consumption and e-commerce. Like “traditional” social media platforms, users have the power to communicate, follow and friend anyone. However, Konaa believes social space should be as intimate and as private as a user chooses; space is not dominated by ads.
The next step was to organize a platform to harness the consumption power of a massive user base, that merges communication and e-commerce, BUT build a platform that effectively increases productivity. Enter the social marketplace. Now any music artist, author or artist has a place to sell their art in just a few clicks, a place for companies ranging from clothing to candle makers can increase distribution and simplify travel planning for vacation homeowners, activity and service providers by giving users a centralized discovery engine. An environment that encourages small businesses to advertise through our unique FavAds, without breaking the bank. Incorporate strong analytics, a real-time inventory management system that consolidates the need for expensive third party software management and bridges the gap between multi-system online/offline structures.
