A one day, city-wide food drive to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. Our goal is to collect 20,000 pounds of food in just 8 hours!
People throughout San Jose are partnering together to collect food donations in a one day effort. Last year, we held our first Food 4others Drive. We canvassed 4,000 homes and collected food donations in front of 15+ participating grocery stores. Our goal was to collect 10,000 pounds. We not only hit our goal, but far surpassed it, collecting 13,342 pounds. Check out our video to see a quick recap.
Why benefit Second Harvest Food Bank?
During our first Food 4others Drive, San Jose's food bank was serving 205,000 people per month. Today, that number has increased to 236,000 people every month. Hunger is a real need that exists in our own community! In fact, 1 in 4 people in our county are at risk for hunger.
Help us raise the funds to coordinate this huge event so that we can bring in 20,000 pounds of food in just 8 hours!
In addition to donating funds, you can also volunteer at this event! If you live in the Santa Clara County in CA and are interested in getting involved, please email info@4others.org.
