May the Votes be ever in you…
May the Votes be ever in your favor :)

If you're in the neighborhood to bring PURE JOY to a very deserving child's life... A $20 donation will provide a birthday celebration and cake for one of our 25 students- an experience they have NEVER HAD in their life. Can you imagine never getting to celebrate your special day and not ever eating a piece of cake in your entire life? Well, either can us, so we want to change that for our extremely hard working students!

Donate $20 to provide the once in a lifetime memory for one of our students, and we'll provide you a picture of the event- something you can cherish forever as well :)

Cheers and Happy Crowdrising,
Megan + Imagine Scholar Team

Did you know march is colon …
Did you know march is colon cancer awareness month? Its one of the deadliest cancers in the U.S., but about 80% of the deaths can be avoided if people just went in for routine colonoscopies. If you feel so inclined to check out my Project $500, its for the Colon Cancer Alliance, in honor of my gramma who'd still be here had she simply gone to get a colonoscopy.

Stuff About Me:
I am a uterine cancer survivor, but was misdiagnosed and mistreated for a peri-menopausal condition I didn't have. My doctors told me I was experiencing symptoms because of a long list of reasons – I was too young, too thin, even eating too much spinach! I was prescribed hormones to treat the symptoms, but my doctors didn’t order the proper diagnostic tests. At the time, I didn’t know to ask why or why not, because I was just happy to be told I was too young for something! But finally after an endometrial biopsy, my greatest fear was confirmed; I had cancer. It took me two years and eight doctors before finally being told I had a gynecologic cancer.

In 2002, I wrote Cancer Schmancer, to tell my story of survival and I soon realized that what happened to me had happened to so many women like me. The book was not the end but rather the beginning of a life mission to improve women's healthcare in America.

I started Cancer Schmancer in 2007 to transform women from patients into medical consumers, and to shift this nation's priority from searching for a cancer cure towards prevention and early detection of cancer.

Visit www.CancerSchmancer.org to learn more about early detection!
