Girls on the Run of Los Angeles County uses the power of running to teach girls that they can do anything!
It is an after school fitness and empowerment program for girls in 3rd - 8th grades that aims to help girls face the negative pressures society can create. GOTR combines training for a non-competitive 5k event with lessons to teach self respect and healthy living. Girls meet twice per week after school for 12 weeks, and are led by trained coaches. The program is for every girl, regardless of fitness level, size or shape!
